Since 1988 we have lived in Asia or the Pacific Islands. We moved to Roxas City, Capiz, with our first child to help teach at the Berean School of Ministry, established by Revs. Rey and Zenaida Calusay. Graduates of that school have gone on to pioneer churches and ministries around the world.
Micronesia
In 1991 we moved to the small nation of Kiribati in the Central Pacific island of Tarawa where we pioneered a mission base and alternative school we named Disciples School of Ministry. They also helped establish the Assemblies of God in Nauru. Our life is filled with stories of God’s faithfulness and miraculous intervention which comes out in the books we write.
Guam
Moving to the Island of Guam in 1995 started as a detour but turned into a significant pioneering adventure. There we established The Lighthouse Recovery Center and later the Oasis Empowerment Center. These addiction recovery centers changed the face of Guam and empowered many lives through transformation and spiritual formation.
The Dump Truck
Our career path took a drastic change when our youngest son was run over by a dump truck. After being crushed and left for dead in that tragic hit-and-run accident, Allison moved to Washington, D.C., to stand vigil at MedStar Hospital. The miracle of resurrection life, which is only possible through Jesus, brought us to a new kind of faith and trust in the promises of God.
Thailand
After 8 years of recovery, Ethan returned to complete his education, and we returned to international ministry work, this time in Bangkok, Thailand, to serve as global care pastors. Currently living in Chiang Mai, Thailand, our new focus is empowering refugees and helping launch a new generation of pioneering leaders who live to make God’s praises glorious.
